Munster went into the 200 Heineken Cup Final at Twickenham with some incredible victories behind them. There was the two one point victories against Saracens in group play and the magnificent 31 - 25 semi final win over Tolouse away from home in France. Could they emulate Ulsters achievement from the previous year and lift The Heineken Cup??

A tight tense game came down to the wire leaving Ronan O'Gara with the chance to win for Munster and keep the cup on Irish soil for another year at least. Again as is the case with most teams from our small island lady luck deserted us as O'Garas kick drifted inches wide handing the win and the cup to Northampton Saints.
Even though Northampton deserved their 9-8 victory Munster came oh so close to lifting a major trophy, this loss wasn't the last of the heartbreak for the men in red though.
